Love: From Caterpillar to Butterfly

A librarian friend gave this to me, so that is the first clue that this is a good book. Unfortunately, I gave it to my daughter a little too young and she tore out the super special pop-out surprise in the end. I don’t want to give it away, but you can figure it out. Anyway, this is a great book for spring and a great book for a little one learning their colors.

There is a little stuffed caterpillar on an elastic cord that “eats” through each page onto the next, soul searching for something more. In the end he finds it. On the ground, the world is only one color at a time, but after he spends time in a cocoon (there is an actual cocoon that folds over him), he can see the world for all it’s colors. There are several great messages in this story such as “seeing the forest for the trees” and self-discovery. Plus, it has pretty pictures.
